Miss Evelyn in her Chevy Camaro

I was about to post another project of mine when i stumbled upon this amazing ad, so let's do that later and for now I'm going to show you this Chevy Camaro ad from this year with everyone's dream girl "Miss Evelyn".

Hmm, how about that, awesome right?

Who of you can say that never imagined a commercial for this or that? Its the perfect situation where consumers have the feeling of power as they influence every situation to their will or simply to just let your creativity fly free and create scenarios in which we all would love to be apart of on the weekends ;)

The ad is so well done in my opinion. The voices of the two guys appeal instantly to our inner child which is filled with creativity for the most absurd situations but at the same time the funniest. They play with a whole bunch of action scenarios that represent every boys dream when they are at the age of playing with toy cars adding that sensual and fantasy element "Miss Evelyn" since they are actual grownups. Another thing i think its essential for it to be so good, is how they argue trough the ad correcting each other in some situations as they get more and more excited for the big ending. This whole combination is brilliant to capture the attention of man in this particular situation but never putting the idea aside that anyone can imagine what ever they want, with who ever they please.

So, how do you imagine a commercial? "leave your creative response below" ;)

  2. ;P o entusiasmo está lá em cima como podes ver. Sabe curiosamente bem escrever, ainda que não diga algo do outro mundo é muito "addictive" !

;p the thrive is up there as you can see. Curiously it feels great to write, even if its not something out of this world its "addictive"!

Mas espero que estejas a gostar kid!

  3. I can already imagine you and all that addictiveness in trumps in a couple of months. Whitney Houston passing on and you, being held by a couple of "friends". I could also assume Manu would be there, but everything seems to be going 'too fast' for him...

  4. I really liked this ad... But i have a comment (kind of a discussion point...):

Who is the target group? I mean, isn t this supposed to be sold to people with money? like business man or people that buy a car like this just for fun.. Because it sounds more like a sports car than a family cay.

Therefore, my point is do you think this target group, when they see the ad, they feel attached to it? Do they see themselves in the voice of the young guys commenting?

I would say it's GREAT ideia... but maybe for a Mini Cooper or even a BMW (only series 1!). But not for this car. Just does not fit the car's target group. Yes we fell attached to the guy's voice.. But do the actual buyers also feel it?

    That's what I think ;)

  5. In order to respond to your questions i will divide my answer in two parts.

First of all before i wrote this critic, i did a small recon work about that same issue. It was in fact very shallow, especially because it wasn't easy to find information about it. Even so, i did find some notes and comments on the internet (nothing official), all of them pointing to the target being specified as a "young person" for sure with a desire for adventure and who likes the car basically because it's cool.

In second place to strengthen my first argument i did some research about the prices between both the Camaro and in this case the BMW series 1. I found that they are very similar around something like 20,000$/23,000$, concluding that it's not about how much you pay since it's almost the same but to whom you want to sell, showing that those two youngsters imagining the commercial are in fact (once again in my opinion), the right way to establish a connection with the target they pretend.

To conclude, i want to say that i was very happy to read your post. This is the purpose of the blog, to create a debate about all kind of things related with Marketing and Advertising and with that said..

    Thank you.

  6. Then, yes! I thought the car was much more expensive, and targeted to people between 25-40, with a lot of money. And in the commercial the guys that are speaking sound like "kids" :P That's why I had this doubt...

But, if the target group is indeed similar to the BMW series 1, for example, then yes it fits more!
